|
|
Hi,
Is it possible to get parts of a POI icon transparent? I've tried using purple (RGB 255,0,255) with no luck.
And size is max 22x22 pixels right?
Sincerely
LarsErik
Ps. I'm using a TomTom One II with the latest software. |

No one has managed this except by accident!
The background colour (white) of the current PGPSW speed camera icons *sometimes* goes transparent when the icon appears on the main navigation display, but NOT on either the map display or when the icon flashes up in the corner of the main display as you approach it.
I've tried playing with various palettes and colour depths too without any luck. So I think that must just be a glitch or bug.
One thing that has changed is that I'm sure the icons used to be 256 colours max, but now they seem to be OK at 16bit colour depth.
And yes 22x22 is the size. |

Ok thanks for the reply. The 16bit colour depth was news to me. :D

You had me worried enough to double check!
In fact, (looking at the icon that came with the PGPSW "Supermarkets" POI as an example) my graphics program (Corel Photopaint) says it is actually 24-bit!
For comparison, it correctly identifies the PGPSW "speed limit signs" from the camera database as 8-bit paletted. |

The Classic GO came with 8 bit Icons and at one of the upgrades it was found that TT had changed it to 24 bit.
The largest size that I've been able to use is 24 x 24. ;) _________________ Richard

It might be possable on a navman as a tmc warning normally shows a triangle above the road it's on! As icon are normally square, the outer areas must be transparent.

I wish TomTom would change so that pink (R:255, G:0, B:255) gets transparent..
