I'd got about 2/3rds of the way through converting all the .ogg file collections into .wav's for Garmin when my blasted laptop turned up its toes and died.

No need, Darren!!

I did all the compilation work for the 'ogg page' in Wav format (better editor and compression / equalising tools) and only converted to ogg at the end.
They are all sitting on my hard drive as wavs if you want them. Smile

I have this working on my palm. I am running a Palm TX with TTN5 update 1. I followed the standard install instructions and it works.

It could be a hardware issue with certain Palm units, the newer devices like your TX obviously work - we had a number of people trying this with other Palm devices saying it wouldn't work, thanks for the confirmation with the TX - Mike

Hi guys, and many thanks to ALL at PGPSW for all the extremely useful downloads, advice, info etc. etc. etc. here - invaluable and highly appreciated by oone and all.

Just a quick check, here, first: I am having difficulty Un-zipping/unStuffing (DOWNLOADING of the file(s) is OK) the .zip file for the 'pmobile' (unconfirmed mobile camera sites) in either speed-zoned, or the consolidated version??

I am using a Mac, (and therefore Stuffit (tm) is my Un-zipping utility, but each time I try to unzip the contents of the 'Crystal chimed pmobile speed-zoned' or the 'Crystal chimed pmobile consolidated' files, my Stuffit fails to unpack the files and reports an error - (dash or minus, -37) IIRC.

I've managed to succesfully Un-zip/Un-Stuff! the appropriate zip files WITHOUT the pmobile speedzoned voice alerts. But would like to have voice alerts for the unconfirmed camera locations , too.

But as has occured on some previous occasions, SOME of the Zip files for voice alerts fail to unZip/unStuff for me. I don't THINK I have any hardware/software isssues at play unless, of course, one of you guys infinitely more knowledgeable than I will ever be advises me otherwise!!

Any bright ideas (or polite suggestions!!), anyone, please?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Several users have commented that dragging the zip file and dropping on Stuffit solves the problem.

I haven't got a Mac, so am not in the best position to advise. Smile

Also (I'm a Mac User) are you using Safari? I get the same issue when using Safari but no problems when using Firefox.

Hi, I have downloaded the ogg files onto my tom tom one V2 but they don't seem to work. I put them in the map folder with the camera files (is this correct?) When I am approaching a camera it makes the high pitched warning sound but not the liz version 2 voice. I have looked in the warn when near part of the machine but it does not list the cameras at all. Does anyone know what i've done wrong. I have been using tom tom navigator for some years with a pda but now gone for the one new edition (very pleased with it btw). When using the pda the cameras showed in the poi but not on my ONE???
thank you in advance.

Which Camera POI files have you got installed on the TomTom One? are they the ones from this site or the ones supplied with the device by TomTom?
The ones from this site will work with spoken alerts, the ones from TomTom do not work this way. If you have PocketGPSWorld camera POI installed to the map folder have you re-configured all the warnings since loading the ogg files - Mike

I have the ones supplied by Tom Tom, I installed them through the activation code supplied with the machine. This was supposed to allow me free camera updates (I think) for 1 year. So, if they won't work with the ones I have from tom tom how would I be able to download from this site will I as I have not purchased the cameras?

I am not sure what you mean by re-configured all the warnings since loading the ogg files??

I am not very tecchy minded so please explain in easy to understand english. Thanks.
with regards Gill57

This Page details how to subscribe to this site before access to the members area is possible, from this area you can access the speed camera download page.

Membership can be obtained for £2 per month or £19 for a full year - the choice is yours.

For further advice on installing and configuring your device I would start with This Page read through #1, #4, #5, #13 finally #7 explains that the spoken alerts don't work when using TomTom speed camera files - Mike
