I would go with the Origin b2, see http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/originb2.php . It's the best I have tested by a mile, comes with laser detection and has extra cost options for radar and laser defeater.
I don't think you'll get a GPS based detector with laser and radar all in for under £400, the list price for the b2 is £429.95 but shop around and you can find it for a lot less _________________ Darren Griffin |

It does not have a radar detector option though. Pluses are it has a GPS out facility but it is not a match for the b2. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Anyone tried the Snooper S4 Neo? Similar price, bit more portable.
The B2 screen looks small - does it work OK when its mounted on the dash?
Cheers

I have an S4 in for review at the moment. I've not found the database it uses very good and it has failed to provide any warning of a laser trap on three occasions so far which does not fill me with confidence.
The display on the b2 is both informative and easy to read. It is of course not as portable as the rest but you did say this was not an issue! _________________ Darren Griffin |

The only decent defence against laser is to use a jammer. Laser detectors are a waste of money as you can be targeted and processed in less than one second, which is not enough time to react and slow down if necessary.

I agree, however not to get any alert is pretty worrying! Whilst testing the b2 I received an alert approaching a flyover on the A3 near Tolworth and reduced my speed, as I crested the flyover there was a mobile trap in position so on that occasion I can only assume it picked up some scatter.
The b2 can interface to an LR100 defeater which is without doubt the best solution! _________________ Darren Griffin |

You 'could' BUT they (Origin) have delayed the availability of the necessary cable so until that is available you can't _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
Will you be posting a full review of the S4?
I'm still tempted with the B2 but can't use it on the bike until the bike kit comes out in the summer.
Cheers

Yes of course, the S4 would not be a suitable solution for bikes though. _________________ Darren Griffin |
