|
|
I am following the instructions for loading POISynch.
I have loaded POI Edit, and it functions well. However, when I click on-
Online-
Autoupdate Settings-
Wizard-
Next-
I then click on - http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/poisync/pocketgps.xml
and get the warning-
'//www-cache.freeserve.com' is not a valid integer.
I can go no further.
I connect to the net via Freeserve or BTOpenworld.com
I use Norton Personal Firewall.
Please can anyone help?

You are receiving this error because your Internet Explorer is configured incorrectly for internet access. If you have a direct connection to the internet then you should not be going through a Proxy Server and should not receive this message. If you are using a proxy server behind a company firewall then you will need to talk to your System Administrator to enable SOCKS access for your PC/account.
If you are on a standard dial-up/ADSL/DSL/Cable connection, then goto our FAQ page at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=FAQ and click on the Pocket GPS POI-Sync link and follow the instructions there, this should get you up and running within a few minutes. |

Excellent - that bit is sorted - I can now download POI to my PC.
However, POIEdit cannot 'see' my PDA.
It is an H2210 on ActiveSync 3.7
Any advice?
(Thanks for your help with all this stuff - I am a bit computer illiterate!)

Downgrade ActiveSync by installing a version prior to 3.7 and you will be okay. This is a known problem with a lot of software that talks directly to the Pocket PC and Microsoft have broken this in ActiveSync 3.7x. |

Even better - I have now downloaded POIEdit Version 3.0 which works with ActiveSync 3.7
Some very nice changes/improvements to this program.
Thanks for all the help, and the excellent web-site.
