Thanks to everyone for their comments. I have now purchased an LPP and it gets fitted next Tuesday morning. Can't wait. I also have a Cheetah Sentinel now fitted to my vehicle, which is working very well at the moment. Hidden discretely behind the chrome grill so it doesn't stand out!
All thats left is to get a Cheetah GPS Mirror. Have recently had the opportunity to use a pre-production one from Cheetah, and I am very impressed with it, both in terms of its detection (which being a pre-prod still needs some tweaking), and the superb rear view you get from it (or should that read rear AND side view).
Once I have my GPS Mirror, it will receive alerts from the Sentinel detector (no need to have the AUDIOnode anymore) and I have the LPP wireless kit ready so that LPP alerts will be received by the mirror as well! I still intend to have the LPP fitted as intended, but I can then have the choice to use its own wiring loom should I need to program it, and the wireless interface to have alerts through the mirror.

Hi All
Just to let you know that I have had my LPP fitted last week. So far so good - no EMI probs (unlike the Def2 piece of s**t).
All I need now is a mobile van to go "play" with!!

I have the LPP as well, and on saturday was the first time ever I could test it out. Well, so I thought.
I found a "community speed" trap in a nearby village who were holding a black, double barrel device (LTI 20-20 ?). I drove passed it twice and I could see them aiming the unit at me but my LPP did not make a sound at all. I tested afterwards that the parking feature works, which it did.
There was no traffic behind me (I was waiting for a clear road before driving 25 mph towards the unit) .
Any thoughts? |

Indeed I can. This is the unit installed on my previous Z4, but the install is identical on my current MZ4.
