I have an SPV M700 pda running tom tom 6. Is it possible to change the speed camera sounds to voices?
I can only see data chk files on this site and I don't seem to have one in my Tomtom folders.
Thanks
Simon.
I have just seen the sticky on this. I will give it a read and see if I can find where the sound files are in my version. |

Simon, look into the use of ogg files for spoken camera warnings, there plenty of posts on the topic. This ogg method replaced the modified data.chk file a while back - Mike |

Thanks for reply. I will.
I just found the data.chk file and replaced it. Everything working o/k.
I will check the personalised ogg file method though. |

Simon, Please have a read through This Thread which will explain the ogg file method and contains links to the ogg file downloads page on this site.
Please note you had better swap the data.chk file for the original one if you want to use the ogg warnings, people have reported strange behaviour if a modified data.chk is loaded to the device when they try adding ogg files - Mike |

I have the same phone loaded with tt6 and Aprils maps
I downloaded the speed zoned camera poi's and then got the voices from http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/realvoice.html (bottom of the page)
Then rename each ogg file so that it matches the name of the poi file .. This screenshot shows what I mean:
There were no voices for 20mph warnings .. you can, if you wish rename the default gatso voice warning so that you just hear 'warning gatso' when you get to 20mph ones.
It works fine for me. |
