Running a test route from Nottingham to Fradley, the software seems to ignore J25 on the M1 and sends you north to J26, some 6 miles out of the way. The suggested route then passes back through J25 and onto J24 before heading down along the A50 and then A38.
I have only tried this on the Demo download while waiting for delivery of my full CD copy from Routeplanners.co.uk. _________________ Jason - HTC Touch HD with Garmin XT UK |

Map of North Durham, heading in-out of Gateshead are hideous, the A1 especially. When these were drawn, the author only had a ruler and a set-square!!

Just a tiny little minute detail missing.... The Thames!!!
Actually it is there but it's colour coded as general background area so it doesn't really show up as a stretch of water. Mapopolis have pointed out that this is due to how Navtech code large bodies of water in their map data and that Mapopolis are looking at how to work around this in their applications.
Cheers,
Matt |

Worse than that, the Liffey in Dublin isn't there either! I mean, what are they going to make Guiness out of now? Oh, yes, the Irish Sea isn't there either. |

Two roundabouts missing south of Lincoln. One relatively old one at an Asda near North Hykenham on the A1434 and a newer roundabout near Norton Disney on the A46. |

Downloaded the demo and all the maps for the area near to me (all London maps, Surrey, Berkshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Hampshire plus a few others).
For thh life of me I coudn't find a map to cover what I'd describe as the SW of London (M25 at around Junction 12ish) - therefore route planning was a bit unusual for trips to say Guildford - it totally refused to use the M25 as there was a 2 junction gap in the map - gave up trying to fix this as life's too short.

Hi, DinAlt,
Please send your exact start and destination addresses that should use that segment of the M25 as part of the route. I can be reached as support@mapopolis.com.
Thanks,

Hi Safeharbor,
My aplogies I should have posted an edit to my earlier post - I decided to give Mapopolis another try and sorted out the problem with the M25 section (totally my fault not the programs). I haven't had chance to play with it since my original post in the other thread so i'll try and have a go this week (unfortunately I'm driving to North Yorkshire tomorrow and d'ling all the map segments between my home and there is not really feasible with the download limit).

Hi, DinAlt,
Please write to me at the email above and I'll send you a major road map to connect your start and end detail maps. (Can your mailbox handle big attachments?)
These are the file sizes for the Major Road Maps of the UK:
MajorRoads-GBR-NE Demo Map NC 0.0 2234K
MajorRoads-GBR-NW Demo Map NC 0.0 2576K
MajorRoads-GBR-SE Demo Map NC 0.0 2981K
MajorRoads-GBR-SW Demo Map NC 0.0 2058K
Like the regular demo maps, these will work for 9 days. Let me know which one you'd like.

Hi,
I've noticed some language oddities in the POI database.
E.g. I was looking for airports the other day, and had a few Irish and a few GB (demo) maps loaded. The results included the following unlikely sounding names ...
Aeroport de Derry
Aeroport International De Belfast
Belfast City Lufthavn
Dublin Lufthavn
Southampton Internationale Lufthavn
etc. etc
Two are obvioulsy French, and the others are (I think) Danish. There's one or two English ones amongst them, e.g. Bournemouth International (!) Airport, but they're in the minority. FWIW it only seems to be a problem that afflicts airports, not other categories.
Any ideas? |

Finally took the plunge & splashed out on the Uk/Europe mapset.
One small niggling point. Around the West Midlands any spoken directions to the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) comes out as "North East C"
I can see why - just a little anoying :| |
