Last week I plugged in a POI ready for a trip that I was about to go on. Nothing unusual. I started the trip the next day but didn't bother to turn the C510E on because I was first going on a side trip to a familiar location. When I got to my first destination I turned the C510E on but got no screen display. If I plugged in the in-car charger the charging light would come on but the screen remained dead. The C510E was charged to green and still the display was blank.

I assumed this was a rather inconvenient hardware problem so when I returned from the trip I set about emailing MIOTEC for support. Just before I sent the email I thought I would see if my PC was able to talk to the C510E so I plugged it into my PC USB port. To my amazement the C510E briefly flashed an OSCAR type error message (too quick to note) and then proceeded to reboot itself.

It now appears to be working 'normally' with the exception that even though it was fully charged while I was on the road, it took a couple of hours to re-charge back to green on the USB port.

Any thoughts on why my C510E suddenly went dead and only burst back into life when I plugged it into the USB port on my PC? How can I get around this if it happens again while I'm on the road?

Appreciate your thoughts... David

It needed the reset button or some other three fingered salute as any Windoze software needs from time to time.
