One of our Nuvi 310's has been suffering from 'route waypoint memoryy full' error when planning a route and 'memory full' errors while driving.
Tried various suggested methods (hard reset, deleting custon POI's etc etc) to no avail, but the following does work...
1. Need to open Maintenance Mode by pressing the lower left-hand corner of the touch screen while unit is being turned on.
2. When the "Do you really want to start up in maintenance mode?" prompts, press the "Yes" button. (It is now okay to release the lower left-hand screen).
3. Log on password if necessary.
4. Press the "Clear user data".
5. When the "Do you really want to erase all user data?" prompts, press the "Yes" button.
6. Nuvi restarts.
7. When the Language, voice language, timezone and daylight saving choices prompt, answer per your preference then press the "OK" button.
8. Note 1: Recent Selection data will be deleted. Favorites as well might be deleted (did not happen to me). You must save your Favorite addresses first.
9. Note 2: You will need to set up your bluetooth phone again.
This has a very suprising unexpected side-effect, which I am unable to comment on...

Oh, go on....
or by PM if you prefer - I'm interested to know the side effect... _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums.

Sorry to disappoint , but I thought that it enabled access to European mapping, but it appears that France & Belgium are already built in (but not Spain, Italy, Germany), although major roads of Spain (and others maybe, I haven't looked) are shown, but you can't navigate to by selection of placename.
Not bad even so, as supposedly UK and Ireland only. _________________ Acer N50 << sadly died, RIP : Holux 236 : TTN5.21

Ah, okay. I think UK and Ireland also includes the MRE - Major Roads of Europe, and I know some Garmin units have fairly detailed mapping of Northern France too. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums.
