|
|
Hi
Just bought the wife a TT1 V2 Europe and getting it out of the box I find it has no SD card, it's all built into the 1Gb internal memory.
There is a card slot and assuming the internal is pretty full, I'll need to add a card to have cameras and additional voices.
Do I just stick the card in then connect via USB or just I jsut stick the files on the card with a card reader??
TIA |

I cant personally confirm this because i don't have that particular Tomtom, but i read on this forum that the internal memory is deactivated and unusable when an SD card is plugged in. Seems pretty much pointless to me having the internal memory built in in the first place. |

It's all a bit new but first impressions seem to be that it is EITHER the internal memory OR the SD card slot.
HERE'S some first experiments someone has done on the yourNav forum |

POI files are small, but voice files can take up a fair bit depending upon how many you want to load.
Take a full back-up of the device to the PC and keep it safe, even consider burning the file to DVD. If you need space remove some of the unwanted installed voices, this action can free up quite a bit of space, I have yet to read the TT advice as the phone refuses to open the above link! - Mike |

Well, I set to on the TT ONE V4 as it seems to be called.
Made a back up of the internal memory, then not bothering with the SD, I just stuck the speed cams and cust voice camera warnings on the internal memory
It's worked a treat and getting rid of the unnecessary voices has left plenty of space.
Added some favorites on the PC.
Re-boxed and wrapped it up ready for her birthday!!
Thing is, I want it now - makes my piddly little screen on my Nokia N73 (running TT navigator 6) look even smaller ;-) |

Further to that last post, I should point out that this year I have been what you might call, overly organised - it's not her birthday till 26th May!!!!
Such a cool device sat in a box for a month (over a month) it's just not right |

Give yourself a late Easter present and go get her another. _________________ Dennis

At least you can't accidentally eject the internal memory when you take the satnav out of the car. |

This is the most ridiculous design I've heard of for quite some time. |

....but this is still a "budget" model so you can't expect a 2.5Gb internal memory I guess. |
