Hi there, i had a hp ipaq rx 5765 pda, my gps used to work fine, after i lended it to my friend ,when i got it back, i can not use gps again. when i open TOM TOM then it showed NO GPS DEVICE! does anyone know to reset the GPS ? thank you in advance.

I think you may need to go into the programs list of your device
Tap the start then programs and then GPS, make sure there is a tick in the COM Port selection box for the Correct GPS antenna you are using
EG:- if using a TomTom "Mouse" (the one on the end of a lead) this one uses com port 3 ....well on my IPAQ 3950 it does.

OK forget my last bit of advice but follow this from Mike
When using TomTom version 5 you do not use the seperate GPS program to set-up the device, instead go to Change Preferences/ Show GPS Status then hit the configure button, it is in this area that you specify the comm port, baud rate etc.
Make sure the GPS driver for the earlier version is not running though as it could be hogging the comm port - start/ settings/ system Tab_Memory_Running Programs and if its listed stop it before launching navigator five - Mike

If it's a serial GPS also check that ActiveSync isn't running in background.

i tried that but it still not working? Do i have to set the hardware and Baud rate? thanks Ratspom and Phil |
