|
|
I have got a C510d garmin, I notice that when i load new POI it over writes the ones i loaded the week before.
Is this correct and is there anyway i can write to my SD card via Garmin POI uploader one week and then add a few new ones the week after. without having to have a upload file on my PC with lst weeks uploads and then add the new ones to this and up laod the whole lot again.
Any clues?

That's the way it works...
You have to collect your POIs in one place on your PC, and then upload them to the Garmin all at once. |

thats crazy so you cant upload form your home and work pc at diff times. is it only the garmin that works liek this tomtom/navamn etc they dont do they?
Is there any way round this.
I tried to drag and drop to the SD card with my Pc and a SD Card writer but it does not see the CSV files unless you use the poi loader. |

it overwrites the poi.gpi file.
you COULD rename the old one as something else then the new uploads will become poi.gpi so will not affect the ones you already have on the unit.

Now that sounds like a good idea, so that works and the renamed file with POIs still has POis which teh Garmin will understand and show up on the extras and so will the new file.
I guess i'd just change the file name on the PC by looking at whats on the SD card yer? |

correct. it's simple and it works - so long as you have access to the files (unlike some of the i3's that ONLY have internal memory)
