|
|
Hi,
I've had a few problems with my V1. Crashes, display jumping around, touch screen not working properly and such like. I've reset, reinstalled from scratch, but it's still not 100%. I'm thinking about replacing with a new V2.
I purchased the latest maps for my V1 recently and was wondering where I would be if I purchased a new V2. Would that have the latest maps already? and if not, can I install my purchased V1 map onto it? I heard V1 and V2 use differents maps?
I retained all my favourites last time by copying a file (can't remember which one) back onto the V1 after reinstalling it. Will this file still be OK ok a V2?
Sorry for all the questions, any help appreciated.
Thanks

I've just found out that the maps are different companies, so I guess I cannot transfer it
If I purchased a new V2, would it have the latest maps? If not, are you allowed to get a free update?
Thanks again,

The V2 Euro model uses Navteq mapping, the V2 Regional (GB) still uses the "old" Teleatlas mapping.
They will come with latest map versions although you usually find the firmware is not the latest.
No, new maps are a never a free upgrade. You would have to buy them as/when they're released. |

Thanks for the reply.
Would you know if my favourites can be transfered to a V2 unit? I did this before by moving mapsettings.cfg over, but will the different maps screw that method?
It's just that I've got quite a lot of favourites in place and would hate to lose them.
Cheers

Copying mapsettings.cfg should still work fine.
And if for some bizarre reason it didn't, you could convert your favourites to a POI category and copy that across. That would DEFINITELY work in any unit. |
