Hi all.
I've just upgraded my ipaq 2190 from tt5 to tt6, and I'm having a few issues.
The first is my POI's, I have downloaded a lot of POI using POIedit and there all showing on my Tomtom, all but the speed camera. All the POI are together in my map folder, but the speed camera are not showing in the navigator.
I also get an error message for each speed camera POI every time I open the checkPOInt program which say " Overlay safety_cam_UK_50 TomTom.ov2 contains data checkPOInt can not read"
The second thing is the uk post code, I get the basic search with the first part of the post code, but not the full post code. I read somewhere that the Zip folder needs to be on the root of the sd card, but it didn't help. Any advice welcome....

Are you exceeding the limit of 100 Custom POIs?
The Camera Filename is interesting. Where does it come from? TT?
In which case POIEdit will have trouble with it, and TT in V6 used a different method. You need to Activate them in Change Preferences | PLUS Services. They also don't count towards the 100 limit.

Are you using Navigate to ... | Address | Postcode?
Another change in V6, from what used to be Navigate to ... | Postcode. _________________ Richard

Hi thanks for your replies.
(Sorry I posted the same post twice)
I manage to fix the uk speed camera problem, I've deleted quite a few of my POI's an they appeared. The other speed camera poi's that I've downloaded with POIedit (Belgium,French, Spanish and German speed camera) are still not showing, they have .ver extension what it that?
For the post code, I go to navigate to, then post code, an I still have only half of the postcode recognition...that's so frustrating...
Thanks for your help...

Re: Postcodes:
The "zip" folder (note small "z") does indeed need to be present on the root of the card.
Inside it should be two files. The important one is "Great_Britain.Postal" (9,082 kB in Win Explorer) and I also have "Great_BritainPostal.ver" which is a text file showing the version.
The zip file comes with the map... When you upgraded the software, did you get a new map? I think the full postcodes only came in with v5 maps.
Also, if you are on the latest version of software, I'd have thought you should be seeing Navigate to ... | Address | Postcode as Oldboy said. That's certainly what you get on the Go range, and I thought Navigator was the same.
Re: Cameras.... just a warning, if you're using POI Edit to download POIs, it doesn't work with the camera files from this site, since it became subscription only. (It will download, but what you get is about 18 months out of date).
Hi all,
I've just found out what was wrong with my TomTom so I though I'll share it with you just in case the same thing happen to someone else.
On my Ipaq I have a slot for SD card in which I have a 2gb sd card with my tomtom maps on it, and I have also a compact flash slot which I've filled with a 2gb card that I use for my mp3.
And I've just notice that all my problems were gone once I removed my compact flash card, as it seems that my ipaq chooses the compact flash card first to save some tomtom files on. So I can now use Tomtom perfectly if I remove the CF card. I'm going to try to install everything on it to see if it helps...
