Recently my Nuvi 310 has started displaying a "Memory Full" dialogue box. At first I thought it was the bluetooth phone messages memory and deleted all the text's but it wasn't that. I presume it's the Nuvi built in Memory so what should I do? |

I don't now how much spare memory is available on a 310 when it is new - but on a 660 it's not all that much - in todays terms.
Do you have a lot of MP3s or JPEGs on board? These are likely to account for the majority of the additional stuff you may have loaded. It's probably safer to load these onto SD card(s) for simplicity. _________________ Phil |

Thats the thing, I haven't loaded anything on. A few weeks ago I loaded V9 maps but the messages have only started about 3/4 days ago. |

You might find performing a hard reset (listed in the manual, and you may want to take a full backup first) may help - this error is about processing memory, not the storage space on the machine. Also, what firmware are you running, as I believe the recent firmwares have fixed a "memory full" error that could occur in earlier firmwares. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Loaded latest software and memory message seems to have gone but my phone, once disconnect from the nuvi, refuses to let me in to my phonebook. It says "locked by another application". I have to turn the phone off and back on again. |

Have narrowed it down. When the phone connects it asks something like "do you want nuvi to access your items". You press OK and a Synchronizing screen appears. This doesn't go away and you have to cancell it, leading to the phonebook locked message. I'm stumped now. Is there anyway of rolling back the nuvi software?
I've found out that answering no to the access question lets the hands free operate and the phonebook is not locked. However ignoring the question box results in the bluetooth connection closing. |

Have you checked on the garmin web site http://www.garmin.com/bluetooth/phones.jsp that your phone is fully compatible with the nuvi?
Also try a reset of your nuvi - it sometimes helps. _________________ Phil |
