Apparently, Tomtom are on the brink of releasing a kit for the 510 etc to connect it into the car stereo wiring loom for mute when phoning, phone audio, route instructions etc through the car audio system.
Much like the "permanent mounting dock" which was / is available for the 500 etc.
Does anybody have any idea of when this is to be released please?

Paul, it is still listed as Temporarily unavailable, but it does include the note that it is for "Professional Installation only" - So keep an eye on theor web site for information as to when/ where it will be capable to purchase such a device - Mike |

Mike
Thanks for that
I couldn't find it even listed on their site.
Perhaps you would be so good as to provide a link please?
Clearly, I have been looking in the wrong places (typical of me ;) )
With regard to 'professional' fitting, if it compares to the permanent kit for the 500 etc, it was no more difficult to fit than a Parrot handsfree kit.
Thanks

There is some basic information to be found Here
Quote: | Bluetooth Wireless Technology for your TomTom
With TomTom Car Connect you can wirelessly play mp3s*, relay phone calls and navigation instructions through the car stereo, as well as automatically switch from day to night view when you turn on the headlights.
Built-in behind the dashboard, TomTom Car Connect gives you invisible integration between your TomTom and your car.
* Check the features available on your TomTom
| - I hope that offers some basic advice, no information about installation, although as it claims "Wireless" and "Hidden behind the dashboard" at the very least care needs to be taken, modern cars have airbags, messing around in this area is not recommended unless you know what you are doing - Mike |
