I currently have TomTom5.21. I'm planning a trip to the south coast of Ireland, just below Cork but my TomTom doesn't have the roads on it Last time I went there I was pretty much lost, it took hours to find where I was meant to be.
Are there any more detailed maps? Even Google Maps doesn't have the roads
I'm using an Orange M5000, so I'm not sure an upgrade is an option. The trip is likely to be made on a motorbike, so other SatNav like the Zumo might be possible? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

Andy, what map version have you got installed, the latest map for version 5 software includes Ireland with quite good coverage (V660) it is available for purchase for 59,95 Euros and is avalable for download from TomTom - if you want to be specific for a couple of locations I can check them out and post some screen shots detailing the coverage - Mike |

According to the Garmin website the Zumo uses MapSource City Navigator NT maps. I've checked my i3 with V9, and it has street level mapping of the area you want, and the rest of Ireland.
A bit of a pricey solution, though! _________________ Anita

It is a bit pricey, but I have been wondering about getting a seperate unit, specifically for bike navigation. I hear the Zumo 550 is the best, so maybe I just stick it on the old credit card _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

Poop, I can't edit... I wanted to ask, is there any way of converting my TT5 POI to go onto the Zumo, or do I have to manually add them all? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

If you want to switch to Garmin you can use POIEdit to batch convert the ov2 POI files to csv POI files that the Garmin will use, put all your csv POI files in a single folder on the PC then use the Garmin POILoader to install them to your device - the TomTom map I have on one of my PDA devices is 660 and having looked around that area there are certainly roads and town coverage - Mike |

Hi AndyCr15
If you buy the Tomtom seamless map of Western Europe (59.95€) it covers Ireland (South and North) admirably.
I have just driven from Dublin Port to Limerick and from Limerick to Belfast in the North. I had to deliver packages to awkward addresses in towns and cities and TT5 worked perfectly.

Okay, sounds good I'm just waiting for a response from TomTom support about the maps. I bought them, they claim I get a free v6 upgrade... which I don't seem to have got, and the maps wont work on TTv5 _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6
