You will find 650.1109 maps work with TTN 6.030 (8320)
also 660.1256 map of western europe has corrected a lot of new road layouts, but it has also introduced several errors. One that I came across the other day is trying to go from Longfield Road Bolton to Preston. It does not take you onto Cop Hill Road because it does not Join Wigan Road (oh yes it does and has always been fastest route) and it still is _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320

I'm afraid that is the whole point of the activation code, martyndh.
It's there to stop people sharing maps (a.k.a. "stealing" in TomTom's eyes). |

Why is the latest USA/Canada v665.1293 nearly 1.5Gb when the previous v660.1215 was under 1Gb?
Anyone know (apart from TomTom of course) who I couldn't be arsed to ask. |

TomTom choose to compress various pieces of the map. By combining forests and meadows, and by using less points for the street polygons, they can decrease the overall map size by about 30%.
I think this is all because someone high up said "Make it fit on a 1GB card, no matter what". I think that is not a good decision and I hope TomTom will abandon that soon and give us the full map detail back. _________________ Lutz

That would explain why it had got smaller. The binman is asking why it got bigger. |
