Hi GF
The Def2 have 2 leads - one for power and one to plug into the incar box. In my intensive tests, I managed to get the Def2 to false when the car was idle, and I had the incar box OUTSIDE of the car!! From this I concluded that the EMI was being picked up through the power lead!!
When the DS forum was still live, I requested many a time for a replacement Def2 head. Guess what? Never arrived. Such a waste of money really.
My suspicions grew when DS announced the Laser Star and they still hadn't fully finished other projects!
I will still hang on to my DriveSmart GPS unit for as long as updates continue, but even this appears to be faltering. Only 2 updates in Feb?? Looks like DS themselves are heading the same way as the Columbia space shuttle!!

I tried various ferrite rings on my power lead, at one stage three in a line, but didn't do much good and looked s**t.
I did go down the road of looking at a ferrite sheaf, (to totally enclose the entire cable against EMI with a special covering) i think if you wanted to try, this could be an answer and it isn't expensive.
If interested will post link to Company. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Hi GF
Yes, I would be interested, although I have really given up ever getting it sorted!! I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try.

Hello Guys, yes another DS user
I have just broken the gold GPS connector on the GPS sensor.
Can anyone remember what the connector type it is, I do know it is not a SES type, that is slightly larger.
