|
|
I have a tomotm 910 that sits nicely on the Windscreen mount, however it will not work with my 2 USB leads (one old style and one new style) I haven't done any updates for ages and want to but not sure why it wont be seen by my pc now.
I thought the green charging light used to come on when connected to the USB but it now doesn't untill i plug in the ext power/charger...but the usb still is not seen by the pc...
can anyone help/suggest some more tests to try?
Thanks. |

The charge light only comes on when the cradle has external power applied to it so that's not the issue.
What operating system do you use on your PC? WindowsXP, Window98?? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Windows XP have tried it on 3 PC's now.
It seems the USB lead is not as tight a fit as the windscreen mount? |

You mean the 'home docking cradle' is not a tight fit I assume? Are you certain that the GO is actually sitting on the cradle properly? Do other USb devices work OK on these same PC's? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes I mean the docking cradle (on the end of the USB lead) the GO is sat on as far as it will go.
Other USB devices work fine on all 3 pc's |

I have a "new" dock (with the extra bit on the back) the "click" is heard but the tomtom is still a looser fit than on the screen mount. (you can pull the tomtom off without pressing the button) which cannot be done on the screen mount
The power/Charging light comes up so some contact is made.....but still no USB connection to the pc.
Shame I don't have another 510/710/910 I can try to prove if it is the tom tom or the dock (esp as both docks do the same) |

The do sit more 'loosely' on the home dock. If you've had two docks and still the same issue it sounds like the GO could be the problem. Have you visually checked it's connector for damage or dirt? _________________ Darren Griffin |
