|
|
I have several questions:
1. How can I change the proximity alert sound on my Nuvi - like I could on my old Tomtom?
2. How can I separate my 'custom' POIs into different groups? At the moment I only have two options 'Custom POIs' and 'Garmin Safety Cameras'. I have the PocketGPSWorld safefy camera database on SD card along with lots of other POIs. But they all appear under the 'Custom POIs'. I'd like to set different alert sounds for different POIs - like I could on my old Tomtom.
3. Does the volume automatically adjust depending on the speed of the car - like my old Tomtom used to do?
4. Why doesn't it remember which country I am in after it has been switched off?
Thanks. |

If you want spoken alerts for the speed cameras then it is possible have a read through This Thread - the sounds will need to be wav format, if you still have the ogg format sounds from your TomTom then you can simply "convert" the audio files to the wav format using Audacity (use the File Export as wav )
Not too sure on the other questions, although the remembering the country is something that bugs me as well! - Mike |

Thanks for this advice Mike, but I'm afraid I need more help! I've downloaded and installed the POI Loader 2400 Beta and the Audicity software. I've made a new alert tone using Audicity. I've run the new POI Loader and put my POIs back on my Nuvi 660, but still cannot see how to marry the tone with the POI. The POIs are on and SD card, rather than the Nuvi itself if that makes any difference. |

Usually you give the sound file the same name as the POI file.
i.e.
POI.csv - The POI File
POI.bmp - The icon
POI.wav - the sound file |

Thanks. I've just worked that out! Not sure if it works yet though. Thanks again. |
