Hi BaileyB,
The first thing you should do is make a backup of your SD card both through Tomtom Home and via Windows Explorer. And, get hold of another sd card, perhaps a larger one 2GB, and copy the files onto that. The new SD Card can be your working one and the original you can place in a very safe place for emergencies.
Then go out and enjoy playing with the new toy.
Regards

Welcome BaileyB
You have been given good advice - read the links to the simple instructions and FAQ's, and do buy a second SD card of largest possible capacity for your unit. In that way your original card won't become corrupted If you have got a USB card reader you can do all updates etc on your computer without having to plug in the tomtom. It is very worthwhile subscribing to the Pocket GPS membership - its inexpensive and our camera database is impressive and updated monthly. Adding sounds is very easy too, using the new .ogg files available through this site (believe me - I'm a computer duffer!). Take a little time to read back through recent postings and "stickies" at the top of the page. If you come up against any serious problems there are plenty of members who will help you out, we've probably already been there before!
Good luck
