hi guys
just got a new computer with vista premium loaded. was just wondering if anyone else has had problems loading TT Home onto it.
i keep getting the message "an unhandled exception occured. press abort.
once i pressed abort it said windows is attempting to repair the files and then says 3 files repaired on your device. i didnt think it would repair anything without me saying so first, but as soon as i clicked on abort it started repairing them. just glad i made a backup a few weeks ago on my old computer.
i know there are a lot of programs that are not compatible yet with vista so i can now add TT to the list.

The only problem I encountered when loading Tomtom Home on to my Vista Business edition was the fact that windows recognised my Tomtom 910 when plugged in, but kept asking for the driver, tried it on my laptop running the same and it worked fine, in the end I had to manually point the driver location to the windows\system32 folder for it to detect it as a mass storage device, weird.
Works fine now though.

I just installed the lastest HOME on my laptop using Vista Home Premium and TT HOME won't let me disable the preference option to not load HOME on start up. It says I don't have admin acess to do this.
Anyone else experience this problem? |

Have you tried right clicking the tomtom icon in start where a list comes up, click on run as administrator & try that. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

I had to take it out of startup the old fashion way
I went to run and type in msconfig
I click on the startup tab and looked for the check tomtom home.
I unchecked it and restart the computer and it was gone. |

I should have explained it better, what you tried was the qiucklaunch at the bottom of the screen, what I meant to say was when you click on the start button in the bottom left corner & then right click on the tomtom icon in the recent programs list, then you will see the list with run as administrator there. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

Works a treat here with ultimate vista. Im a Microsoft beta tester and have been using the tomtom software on vista in most of its incarnations for over a year now. Most of the problems with administrator prompts are to do with UAC which can be disabled via a few third party programs. I use Tweak VI which if you google will put you on the right track. You can disable enable tweak and fiddle vista to however you want it, very good program
Kind regards

Another piece of software that enables you to amend / stop the start up files is Spybot.
I use this for its primary function of ensuring that malware, spyware, trojans etc are not on my pc - but the add-on functionality is very good.
