I posted that the V9 upgrade would cost £45 even if you bought your Quest after it's release date. That does not now seem true although my information came from Garmin themselves.
I recently registered a Quest 1 that i bought back in December and shortly afterwards recieved an e-mail to upgrade the mapping. I went to the garmin site, put in my serial number etc and hey presto, V9 mapping on the way - free of charge.
Just gotta wait for it to arrive now.
Has anyone recieved version 9 yet? (non NT) |

Everyone gets the disk free, it's the unlock code that costs. If the unit was purchased new on or after 1st Sept 2006 and the unlock should also be free. _________________ Chas

I realise that bumpkin, but when I last spoke to Garmin late last year I was told that V9 would not be a free upgrade no matter when you buy your Quest. Seems they told me a few untruths.
Have you had V9 yet? I'm off to Spain in April and would like to get V9 before then as V9 now has full Spain coverage. |
