As always with TomTom, there isn't a simple answer to that question!
You say the "current GB map for the rider/one/go" but the current GB map supplied with the Go510 is of the UK, Eire and the major roads of WE.
For the One, it is the UK and Eire, and for the Rider is still just the UK and NI only (if you can believe the TT website!).
Also the latest downloadable one is the UK, Eire and the major roads of WE.
Moving onto specific sizes....
I'm not sure where you're getting those figures, but ALL my results are much bigger than that!
However, there is no single map file on the Go/One, and the map folder will vary in size with any POIs you have already saved.
Also depending where you look, Windows will give different results...
For example, the original compressed .cab file for my V660.1219 "UK and IE plus major roads of WE" map (downloaded 30th Dec 2006) shows as 237,713 KB in an Explorer window, but when you right click on it and select properties, it says:
Size: 232 MB (243,417,649 bytes)
Size on disk: 232 MB (243,421,184 bytes)
Three different answers!
If I look at my map folder on a recent backup (by the right-click and "properties" method) I get Size = 233 MB (245,188,293 bytes) but that is including the POIs I've added.
Individual file fizes for the main map files in that folder are:
cline.dat = 124 MB (130,972,204 bytes)
cname.dat = 29.0 MB (30,494,917 bytes)
cnode.dat = 49.8 MB (52,253,036 bytes)
faces.dat = 16.4 MB (17,212,151 bytes)
(again, all by the right-click and "properties" method, with the first "Size" figure quoted).
So where are you two looking to get 79.6 and 113 MB? I guess we need to know what version you have alreadyand what you are looking for.

So what is the actual problem as someone here may be able to help?
Suggest a new post with "Rider problem" or similar. |

Yes, just after I'd finished my epic post, I thought "maybe we should just ask what the actual problem is!" |

If posted another thread here,
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=297804#297804
Basically, I'm just going through the contents to see if anything is wrong. It one point before it crashed, I noticed that the gb map was 40MB. I saved it to my computer and deleted it from the tomtom.
Then I installed it back again using HOME and filled in the product key and notice that the gb map was now 79MB? I thought this was odd but it worked.
After adding some poi's and voices and it would hang on the first screen after boot up, no map so I removed everything I had just installed and booted up again, all was well.
Then I started to add stuff one by one to see which one the tomtom diodn't like. I found the dodgy poi and deleted it again. Rebooted and all was ok.
But then after more of this, it wouldn't boot past the splash screen and no amount of restoring known good back ups can fix this.
I wish I hadn't messed with it now.....
previously used and working sd cards won't work in it either so I think its a hard ware/ firmware thing but i'm well and truly stuck.
Anyway, long story but thanks for asking |

Is your SD card big enough as the original one won't have much spare space. |
