thanks for your help bfg but this doesn not work either. I get a window with the heading of what I want to download but inside the window is the files of the last thing that I actually downloaded! It does work when I go away for a while and then try but for some reason it won't work when I try straight away. Never mind perhaps I'll just have to be patient.

When you don't try it for a while, AOL lets the files expire and, when you ask again, it allows the new set through from the site, rather than giving you the old set. _________________ Jock

Why is Copyright PocketGPSWorld.com necessary on every POI? Its taken me ages to take it off all the poi's ive downloaded. Being in East London it normally shows me that as the closest of whatever I look up, which is very annoying!!! |

More info needed...
PC or mac?
Which Browser?
Single or combined file?
Have you tried both the straight download and the "show link" version?
What is the full name of the file you downloaded (including the 3 letter extension)?
How are you extracting the files from the zip archive?
All these little details help to pinpoint the problem... |

Apols if I'm missing the obvious, but is there any connection with MaFt's own GarminPOI database?
Any plans to merge the data? Do I need both? thanks much. |

I have been trying to download POI's using 4 different PC's and using IE 6 & 7 and also Firefox 2 but have failed with all.
I can occasionally get individual items to download but if I try to combine anything, such as all of the accommodation, it always fails.
Can anyone help? |

some files were given to richard/pgpsw to get the pois up and running however i'm still doing my site so it's up to you which you use! i'll get around to updating mine some time soon as well!
i presume that within time his one will be far more accurate than mine due to the shear numbers of 'extra' users...

tevets - Can't help as to why its not working, but as a "workaround" you could download the individual categories and then combine them yourself with POI Edit |
