TomTom GPS 2.09 breaks other GPS applications

Crikey, haven't used those versions for a long time. I'd be a bit suspiscious of those Add/remove entries though, is this a legit version as I've never heard of the TomTom~GPS entry not being present. What version of TomTom is this?

Tom Tom Navigator 5.1, absolutely legal.

May be in Spain, we have different versións ???

But still, it shold work !! please help...

Why do you have TomTom GPS version 2,06 installed? - this was a standalone programe that was used by TomTom version 2 and 3. The version 5,1 you have installed has its own GPS driver and does not require the 2,06 application.
If you are finding one application works and the other cannot find the com port can you make sure that TomTom is not still running in the back ground, this could be hogging the com port - Mike

Thanks 4 you r time, Mike, but still not working...

I installed tom tom driver 2.06 after reading it st Ozi explorer´s official site. They suggest this to avoid problems similar to the one i have.

I made sure tom tom was not running and tried to search the com port running oziexplorer, but still it wasn´t available at the list.

When configured Tom tom i had no problem to select com6 as the GPS port and worked fine...

Any other idea?

Have you uninstalled the TomTom GPS driver now?

Finally solved the problem uninstallind tom tom and Ozi explorer. Then reinstalled and configured Ozi and later Tom Tom.

Now both programs are running without conflicts betwee them.

Just say thanks to all people on this forum who gave me some clues.

The only question now is that while using the map moving utility, the screen doesnt update as fast as would be desired. I hope must be the processor of my qtek s200 (200mhz) is not fast enough. It worked perfectly on my previous PDA SIEMENS pocket loook ( 400mhz)...

Are you saying the screen refresh rate using TomTom is too slow? - if so go to change preferences and disable all the POI that are checked, use the Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI instead, this doesn't burden the processor in the same way.
If you have loads of POI enabled the screen can appear very slugish - worht a look see - Mike

Sorry Mike, my question was about the Ozi Explorer program. The screen doesn´t refresh and updsate each 1-2 secs, its takes at least 12-15 secs. I was thinking that may be its the processor is not enough fast (only 200Mhz)
