Got hold of a 910 that's unused & still in the box. Trouble is, when I connect it to USB the machine sees it attach but the unit goes in to a 'formatting' mode. When it finishes, the 'Home' software still can't recognise it and it doesn't appear in 'My Computer' either.
Switching it off and back on just repeats the process, as does disconnecting it from USB.
Anyone got any thoughts? |

It was part of a set of 'factory return' stuff I picked up in an auction. It's new but was obviously returned for a reason. Perfectly possible of course that it's DOA - just hoping someone out there had an answer since I've always wanted one of these. |

Understandable assumption but actually this was clearout stock from E-Buyer.
I've bitten the bullet and sent a query to TomTom themselves, but my past experience of them is that they treat the user with contempt even when the device has been bought through the usual channels. Hopefully someone on these forums can advise me one way or the other. |

Stab in the dark. (usb-1 and usb-2), It may only work on a true usb 1 or 2 port. If you have a machine with both ports, try a different port. Or quite possably try an altogether different machine. _________________ Dom
