Hi
have come across some "specs" on the MOTORWAY that didn't show up on my TOM TOM ONE (with latest feb updates), managed to get a good whereabouts as to where they were, and have tried to upload the info to you guys.
Think i have done it successfully, but how do i know i have done it correctly?
i uploaded the OV2 file, (the exact one (50mph) and a good descripton of where these specs were, submitted, and it said i have successfully sent.
Can i get this confirmed that it has been received - if i am honest would love
free lifetime downloads, and wanted to know i was doing my bit.
Cheers

Is it ?
ok thats that one out of the window then!
i know when you get stuck theres some great people on the forum to give you the links with the correct info on how to do things thats great, but i found it difficult to forward this info on, i was about 20 mins away yesterday from where these specs were and rushed to get home onto here when i got in, to give the info for others to be aware / or to be cautious, because it wasn't on my free feb updates on my TOM TOM from your goodselves, which was the reason for my original post - plus without deny and being honest was looking for the lifetime membership free download(s)
Is there a break down on how to forward this info on for future reference please? |

Go to This Page scroll down and you can read through the options for submitting camera locations, if you don't know the exact lat/ long use the map and zoom in to your camera location - Mike |

My apologies i have had a reply on the information i sent, so i must have done it correctly !
It strangely went into my bulk mail folder in my e-mail ?
and i couldn't see it until i scrolled down in my folders column down the side of outlook.
Strange? Anyway it confirms the information has been received, and gives loads of longitude and latitude locations which i am assuming is the amount of people that have given this location already, would love to have the POI capture on my Tom Tom, but having read up in here it isn't suitable for the Tom Tom one just yet, so i'm hanging fire on that, thanks all for replying, love this site it is spot on !

slimsta,
yes, we have received your ov2 file but you should have had an automatic email sent to you.
can i point out that you captured each camera as 'unknown' - this is risky as they can easily be ignored or rejected - luckily you mentioned that they were specs in the user comments which gives us the info that we need.
thanks

from memory there is the option to select type after you 'capture' the camera in poicapture.
i've not really used poicapture so can't be any more specific i'm afraid!

You should get the option to select Type, which is spread over two pages and lists the various camera types including icons that depict the camera, once the type is entered you will be offered the speed selection page followed by the direction screen.
The application can be set to store position minus the additional information after a predetermined time delay, to adjust these settings you need to go to preferences from within POICapture the actual icon is on the same page as the direction selection buttons, there you will find an option to turn off the timer feature - Mike |
