Here's what I infer so far. I'm sure these Winduhs Prodigies will correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.
This attitude really is beginning to wear thin! If you are offended by being taken as one of the 95% of "ordinary" people who use Windows, why don't you stick one of these in your Signature?

For many it works, but others have had my problem too, and so BGF recommends (above) converting them from Favorites to Points of Interest, which I think is a stupid way to handle it. I don't want them awkward POIs.
I didn't, but I was going to . I suspect that there may be a US/Europe divide here. Each European country has a Map and a Plus Map. The Plus map contains the country and the Major Roads of Europe, but not down to street level in the foreign countries. There is also a Map of Western Europe which contains street level mapping of the whole of Europe. This means that people, who want to copy their favourites between maps, are used to using POI files for this purpose. Several utilities allow conversion of .CFG files into POI files. If you're still having problems with the CFG method, and can find no other solution, it might be worthwhile considering that, unless you actually want to type them in by hand. If you are really stuck, and can post the file somewhere, I could convert it for you.

Apparently no one here is technical to have figured out what is going wrong.
I'll avoid the obvious "If you're so clever ..." comment. _________________ Jock

I didn't come here with a negative attitude, BGF. You and mullet inflicted one on me. I've been a member here a while and have contributed some pretty technical posts, including checking your pod in WAAS at an actual GPS land reference point location.
Now; I have been warning you and Mullet to take it easy. Some of us sound stupid because we are extremely busy. You have the time to be here alot, so I'm saying cut the spitballs and if you're going to help please do so with a good attitude. You never know who you may p!ss off. Hopefully the message got through.
As to whether I am so clever, I've analyzed several .cfg files and sussed much of its structure, a global first AFAICT:
TTN5 Major Roads of America Map
37 8B 45 09 F0 74 48
TTN5 Canada Map
9C B0 44 09 D8 C4 4A
The last several bytes are most suspect. This appears to be a classic CRC checksum of the rest of the file. If I had more time I could test this theory.
But at this point I suspect that TTN6 thinks my West .cfg is failing CRC check, and so wipes it. None of the other regional .cfg's flunked, so it's doing something right. But there must be something about my West .cfg .
If I get time I could ascertain how CRC is being calculated, and simulate that to correct my file. I am out of time now though.
