Yes it should make a differerence as i believe this installs the driver and then your i3 will be found. |
Well, I installed POI loader - which also put g Start on my PC - but still no joy! The Found New Hardware wizard still initiates, and still can't track down the drivers. I'll wait for a response from Garmin.
Thanks again to everyone. |

after you have downloaded teh "USBDrivers_21.exe" and double-clicked it to run, do you get the install-shield wizard or not?

Have you xp service pack 2 installed?
If not then install it & then this should find your driver. |

I'm having exactly the same problem [I actually posted before I found this], running XP SP2 as well. I have also gone through everything shadowritten describes. Unless I too am missing something obvious, this also has me foxed. |

Try to connect your i3 to another USB plug preferably one without USB Hub (if any).

I have found the solution to the problem, and it only took about 10-20 minutes....
1. Download and run the i3 USB drivers.
2. When PC detects USB device, tell it that you'll specify a location to search.
3. Browse to C:\Garmin\USB Drivers and click OK.
4. Windows will detect the relevant driver in that folder and install. Once this has been done, you'll be able to use the autoupdater. |
