|
|
Hi! Please could someone remind me if I can download ALL of the new release of safety camera files (number now increased in Feb release to include unconfirmed mobiles i.e. "pmobile")onto my aging TTG300.
I had at the back of my mind that there was a limit to the number of files that the 300 could accept, so I deleted the new 'uns as a precaution. Or.. am I getting confused with max number of POIs.....
Cheers

The limit for custom POI's is 39 for those devices running version 5 software, if you have version 6 software this limit is raised to 100.
There was a version 5 release that was further restricted down to something like 27, but you can upgrade to version 6 software to overcome any of these issues - Mike |

Thanks Mike - yes, I am out of date and still running V5 - i gave up with updates due to some of the bad press that they were getting last year! Maybe its time to try again
Much obliged for the rapid and clear response!
Cheers

Like you spot, I stuck with v5 for a long time (the 'if it ain't broke, why fix it' mentality).
When I finally gave in (because I wanted the latest maps) I actually found it was fine. Most of the things complained about (such as auto-shutoff not working anymore) just don't happen on a Go300.
My custom menu remained in place, so I didn't even notice most of the menu re-organisation.
The only thing that sometimes gets my back up, is the extra steps needed to select a POI to navigate to. |

Thanks Andy - I upgraded to latest software last night, and as you say it was all fine.
If anyone else is encouraged to, belatedly, do this the only minor problem that I experienced was that the TTG300 froze on a white screen after all of the upgrade process and I couldn't turn it off!! With the help of a bent paperclip 8O I pushed the reset button under the unit and (phew) everything was hunkydory again. |
