i don't think the POI for truck stops actually exists right now.
however, if we could gather a comprehensive list of all stops and their as close to exact locations, i would help building the POI as i have a number of friends who would benefit from this POI. |

(I am new to this so I do apologise if I say something silly.)
I don’t know if this will help you as I have not got a navigator yet (it’s in the post). I have been looking on a lot of sites for hgv navigation as I am getting a hgv driving job soon (I hope). Anyway I come across a poi for truck stops:-
http://www.poihandler.com/poi_download.asp
It is under restaurants but I have not viewed it so I do not know if it is very good.
Hope this helps though :D |

Funny you should mention that actually.
http://www.poihandler.com/add_group.asp gives the list
Category: Car Parks UK
Entry: UK Truckstops
Category: Traffic
Entry: Parking
Entry: Rest Areas
You could always create your own though??? |

You'll have to download Oldies POIConverter then. It works a treat. _________________ Richard

As a Truck driver living away from home, I have been compiling overnight parking, truckstops & cafes for the TomTom, Most stops are for overnight parking with washing and eating facilities near by, so if anyone is interested, E-Mail me @ paul@wrawby.freeserve.co.uk and I will send you either the TomTom Ov2 and bmp files or the Exel file fof import into Autoroute. Ihope these are of some help. |

You could also buy the AA truckstop guide. My copy is in the truck at the moment but I'll try and remember to get the correct title this afternoon. The highways agency also do a free Truckstop guide for England which is available from their website, http://www.highways.gov.uk/news/10561.aspx _________________ Gary

I have offered my database which I have created over the past 4 years, to the POi site, so hopefully will be available soon, it lists approx 400 sites and covers most of the uk, but if you can't find it, PM me and I will Mail it to you, I have also made a Key fuels site file for HGV's if anyone is interested |
