Hi all may i jus say what a great forum! have looked all through here to find the answer to my troubles but with no luck was hoping someone out there could help!
i recently recieved my free CoPilot live 6 software from 02 and installed it onto my xda orbit. no problems so far all working fine! but......
i wanted to install it onto my 1Gb memory card instead of the 256 one 02 gave me so i wouldnt have to keep swapping over. i uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but couldnt get the thing to work so gave up admitted defeat.
I reinstalled it to the 256 memory card and all seemed to work fine until i noticed my camera alerts were not working not even a yellow box or sound! i can only assume it was to do with the install - reinstall as all was workin fine before this! any ideas?
ive tried reinstalling it onto the xda but that didnt work ether! im really tearing my hair out with this one! any advice would be much apreciated!
thanks in advance guys. |

Hi whit,
Don't know if this will fix your current problem, but after updating the cameras several settings tend to change.
Take a look at
menu, options, home, settings
Under map select Automatic Day Night Mode (if you want it on)
Under Safety Alerts select Enable. I use 500 yd for the warning distance.
If you still have problems just ask. |

Hi Whit
I got my CoPilot Live software last week for my Orbit, I had a similar problem, my safety camera warnings did not work. I had installed every thing from my desktop and used a new 1Gb card in the Orbit. When I copied the safetycamera.bmp and safetycamera.ov2 from the supplied 256Mb card in the SDcard\copilot\save folder to the same on the 1Gb in the Orbit all was fine.
Hope this helps |

Hi Whit
Just an extra note to last post. If you used the CD-Rom to install the software I don't think the saftycamera database is on it, only on the Micro SDcard, I might be wrong. The database supplied was dated Nov 06, so it may save you a bit of time by subscribing to this forum and installing the lastest one as I have done now.

Hi all,
I'm new here and have been looking around the site to find out exactly how I update my speed camera database on the above mentioned software and unit.
I've just downloaded the latest 'all cameras' zip fil and copied over .ov2 and .bmp files to the PDA. CoPilotLive6 updated itself upon running and I've set POI - safety cameras as well as safety camera alerts from the options or settings menu.
Is this all I have to do for them to work?
I've not been on a test run to try them out but I presume the icons don't appear on a route until you're approaching the actual speed camera?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Chris |

Ah brilliant!
I searched their site for ages trying to find safety camera files but it seemed to just point to some old November 2005 ones.
I take it when they say delete AO*.* they mean all files starting with AO i.e. Aocattype, Aopoi, Aotyp?
Thanks for the help!

It's okay, sorted it out fine. Was a little dissapointed to see that their database is a little out of date compared with this site's database.
Thanks for the update though!

Has any one managed to open the ezp file which is placed into the pocket pc to update the cameras? I would imagine it is some kind of compressed file with the locations.
If this could be done then I would guess that the info could be replaced. |
