|
|
I read somewhere a installation guide for the speed camera alerts that listed the distances and speeds for certain amounts of warning (i.e. at 30MPH, 294 yards gives 30 seconds warning)
I am trying to find a ideal alert distance for each speed category as my TomTom is currently alerting me to cameras that aren't even on the road I am on. Anyone know of any good guidelines for setting these distances so they are appropiate? |

THIS Is the guide that contains the speed/ seconds table. If you want to reduce the number of alerts try setting it to warn only if POI on route for each camera category you have installed. The downside to this is you must allways have a route planned in order to generate a warning (drive with no route planned = No warnings) - Mike |

Thats the one! Thanks.
I currently have the distances set to 30sec warning for each speed according to that guide. Perhaps I'll reduce this to 10 sec and see how that goes. |

"20secs" as per that guide seems popular (or if you want a quick way to remember: in yards, it's almost exactly 10 times the speed - 200yds for 20mph, 300 for 30mph etc.
Most people set the alert at double that or more, for mobile sites
(...and for camera warning signs, CCTV, wheelie bins, trees etc in the new un-verified database ) |

To be more precise it's the 'old' unverified database. _________________ Regards

First rule of comedy: Never let facts (incorrect or otherwise) get in the way of a good gag!
But if we're being pedantic it IS the new one as there never was an "old" unverified mobiles database, only the complete database with the unverified ones in it. |

Stop it! I'm too late home to join in - this is hurting my sides and threatening an incontinence accident _________________ Dennis

Well, I think it would only be democratic for you to hold a poll to see how the overwhelming majority would like to receive the unverified super-wonderful-magic place protected by elves download files. _________________ Dennis
