I would suggest downloading the latest version of software.
http://www.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp
Once you have done this perform a master reset on the unit and then leave the unit turned on outside for around 30-40 minutes without moving it.
To reset your nüvi: Turn it off
Hold down the top right hand corner of the screen
Turn the unit on in the normal way (remember to release the power button when screen lights up)
Keep your finger on the screen until a message appears asking if you want to erase all user data
Remove finger from screen
Select YES. |

I have already downloaded the latest update (Ver. 3.40 as of Jan 09, 2007), and it still does the same thing.
Any more ideas, before I just send it back to the guy I bought it off? |

I really think you have two options here, and the choice will come partly down to how good a deal you got for the unit in the first place:
1. Send it back as it's faulty
2. Talk to Garmin and see if they will repair under warranty (if the unit is still in warranty). Garmin may still repair it (ie swap it for a working unit) even outside of warranty, and may also do this free of charge (although they are not obligated to). _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |
