More Specs cameras on the A2 in Kent

For everybodies information there are now more specs cameras @50 between Cobham and Northfleet on the A2 in Kent both directions and on some of the entry slips.
They should come into force when the roadworks start tomorrow Monday 15/1/2007. I have already submitted the locations for the database so be careful until the next release

Yep, saw those yesterday. I took it to be a 70 limit though, didn't realise there are road works starting there.

I went along there on Saturday but never had my Sat Nav with me, I noticed one specs pole with a single arm but no cameras on the left of the hard shoulder just after leaving the M2 and onto the A2. Further along there was a 'proper' specs in the centre with cameras for both directions. I never noticed any more before reaching the M25. I'll have to make a point of going over the route again in the next few days and submit what I find.

As for roadworks starting, they've only recently got rid of the last lot.

The roadworks starting this morning are the start of the major re-alignment of the A2 from cobham to northfleet 4 lanes each way following the CTRL going behind the Tollgate Hotel.
The specs are the pole on th left that you saw then sets in the central reservation then a pole just before tollgate plus one onn the slip road then one before northfleet then on at the start of pepper hill. Aprrox in the same places on the way back. Th roadworks are due to extend to dec 2009.

Further to my message at lunchtime Tuesday, my wife drove home from Gravesend in the evening and has told me that the 50mph signs and the average speed check signs were out so i'm assuming that the cameras are now online.

There are at present only two sets of specs cameras in operation on the A2 between Singlewell(Nells Cafe) and the Inn on the Lake coastbound.
It would seem that they will probably move the cameras when the roadworks move to a different location so be careful because they may be somewhere else tomorrow or next week or whenever. Don't know how MaFt is going to show this in the database because it could be wrong 24 hrs later.

as long as each camera pole is showed in the database that will be fine better safe than sorry, i reported most of the poles as they were being installed at the start of jan and hopefully other ppl will have reported them as well.

The Specs cameras between Cobham and Tollgate London bound are now in operation. Will check coastbound tonight on my way home from work.

Further to yesterdays post the cameras have now been fitted from Singlewell(Nells Cafe) to Cobham in BOTH directions.
Also for any bikers out there the cameras in the central reservation have one camera pointing in each direction Londonbound probably to get your rear numberplate.
