|
Have installed new version of Tom Tom home with no problems whatsoever a few days ago and managed to get updates etc ! however since last night when I try and log on to Tom Tom home the little log on globe spins for an age then i get an error box stating log on error/network error.
Any ideas anyone before i spend my day trying to get advice from Tom Tom ? I have uninstalled everything and put back on, this also includes putting onto a different PC to rule out my lap top having a problem.
There is no issue with my log on details as I can log into the home page no problems. |

Yup - I'm getting an error message of "network error". Used to be just fine.
Anyone else? |

me too, i was getting it last night.
just downloaded all the cams from here and loaded them, that was the only thing ive done different but now i know its not that causing it. also have a problem with the docking station. 5 attempts last night to dock it to my computer with no joy.
when i first took the ttg out the box and docked it there was a click and it held in place but now it just sits there and can be lifted of without any trouble. should it lock into place or just sit ontop of the dock?
cheers

When my unit refuses to connect up to the PC I try a reset of the TomTom, although its not a 100% sure fix it works most of the time.
The issue with the home dock my unit clicks in and out of the Home dock, but it itsn't actually retained or locked into it, I can simply remove it from the connection (its been like this since new).
The big issue is when in the car dock, you really do need it locked in place, imagine it flying of the mount at 70MPH due to those "small" blemishes on our UK motorways. Its its OK in the car dock I would leave it alone, if its not locking in the car send it back as its clearly broken - Mike |

Thanks Mike
seems fine in the car even tho i think it is a little too heavy for the dock so it seems to lean downwards a little too much even after locking into place.
its a shame you cant just plug the plug straight into the back like the Go Classic.
if i do a reset does that mean i loose all the cameras from here and have to load them again?
thanks mate

A reset will not wipe any data or settings, I even carry a pin around with me for when I need it (not too often these days) - Make sure you know where the reset switch actually is BEFORE you start prodding it with a pin, see THIS - |

My error that was coming up earlier when trying to log on to Tom Tom home is all fine now (just kept trying).
Different problem now !!! I was lucky enough to get free camera downloads in form of a Tom Tom Plus scratch card, I have been using the PGPS downloads no problem but now I am getting braver fancied trying the free scratch card that I got for the Tom Tom subscription just to see how they compare.
Have disabled all my PGPS camera alerts in POI on the Tom Tom and followed instructions on Tom Tom home to install cameras all this is, is to enter product code and away you go .
When this has been done i get a message saying an error has occured please try later !
Any ideas or am I just being impatiant ??????? |

Several threads both here and in other SatNav forums suggest there have been serious connection problems with the TT Home server for the last 24 hours.
My suggestion is to stop trying until tomorrow (Monday) evening .. in the hope that TT realise the problem and fix it in working hours. I have a feeling that no-one is working the problem as it's a Sunday
Pretty poor for asn international web-based company ... but seems the norm for TT .. support for users comes last in the priority list.

| yes that does make perfect sense and like you say its pretty poor that they cant provide a service 24/7.
I will wait til tomorrow as Top Gear is on soon and they don't close Sundays !!!! |
