gav,
I ordered mine of the 16th December, i have a feeling that a few other people still waiting ordered on this date too. When did you order yours?
I emailed garmin on both of the addresses given, stating my order number as per the order confirmation sheet the responses are this:

Good Afternoon
Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe
Sorry about the delay, this has been due to such a high demand. However the disks are currently being shipped and it should be with you by the end of next week.
Regards,

Hi,
Unfortunately we had some slight delays with the shipping of the City Navigator Update Discs for version 9 NT. Due to these issues we only started shipping approximately two weeks ago, therefore if you ordered the disc when the update was first available you should receive it soon. Once the package has left us we estimate 2-3 weeks until you receive it. This overall time may change depending on whereabouts in Europe you are located.
We thank you for your patience with this matter.
Regards,

Sadly the first prediction is incorrect, and i'm not even sure what the second replay says.
Needless to say i shall be emailing them again today. |

However, I'm not sure if Garmin have yet included support for the SDHC cards in the Nuvi range, so you are best advised to avoid these (unless you can test before purchase).
Given that the elder "normal" 2Gb cards can be picked up for less than twenty quid it would seem sensible to stick with what works. |

Having ordered my disc on 16th December and not yet receiving it, and my Dad ordering his in January and getting it two weeks later, I phoned Garmin yesterday. They told me that on the early orders there were problems shipping the discs out. They then put more efficient methods of shipping in place for the later orders and those look like they have been delivered. They explained that the early orders will be getting sorted soon...exactly when is anyones guess, probably when V10 is released . It is a farce, a case of the early bird catching naff all. |

Hi
I ordered mine on the 15th December
I have had the same replies from Garmin as you.
I tried to reorder to but they have managed to stop that trick.
It would be nice if they could email their loyal customers with a proper story about the delays.

I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and it arrived a few days ago! I guess i'm one of the lucky ones! I also found out that the nuvi 350 will replace the V8 with the V9 maps and it will still have around 400mb free space on its internal memory! so there is no need to buy an extra SD card |

I spoke to Garmin support and my disc is now in the post. Expecting it Monday/Tuesday.
It seems that when I registered my unit I made a small error somewhere and apparently didn't go through, although the order for the V9 maps has, but they could not send to an unregistered user...
This was quickly fixed by Jimmy. Very happy with unit and service. |

I have done...but I was making a point about being first to order and last to receive it and also Garmins lack of planning |

Hi M8s
It looks quite like the the problems are not yet over any my disk doesn't seem to be on its way either. Has anybody an Update disk as an ISO file or is in London next weekend and can give me a copy? I think there's no problem with copying it, as it's useless without the proper keys from Garmin.

An ISO image was circulating on the internet. and you are right that it would be useless without the unlock code. |

Hi,
A bit more info on the problems I was having with updating the v9 maps to the internal memory on my I3.
After another two weeks and no contact from garmin, I rang again for an update. This time they appear to be aware there is a problem, and I was told it was currently with garmin US for a fix.
She said it would be another week or so, and I asked how I would know if there was a fix, so she took my mail address, the fourth time I have had to give them this, and perhaps I will get some info when a fix is found, but on previous performances I am not holding my breath.
I asked had they added this info to their website faq and was told no, so much for keeping customers informed.
If I get any more info I will post here.

I've seen that Image, but it looks that it's a full version not usable for updating. So not for us, I think.
Anybody else?

No there is no update version as such. The DVD that you'ii get from Garmin is the full version as well that will need to be installed on your computer and then the maps transferred to the unit. |
