Hi,
has anyone noticed here that TT has an update vor Version 6?
u can find it http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=6736&Lid=1
It says that it is only for the named devices, but it also works fine with my x50v
Changes I noticed so far:
1. the navigation in 3D seems to be smoother even with lots of POIs activated.
2. the menue seems to response quicker - espacially when u type in adresses
3. if u have Memory-Cards in ur slots it is now possible to switch maps. In the previous version i always had to put out the SD-Card to make use of the CF-Card.
4. The Start-Screen has changed - nice hands are appearing now
As this version is only for the named devices i think TT-Home is not offering the update to anyone with a different device. But u can download it from the TT-HP. In order to download the new version u have to have TT-Home 1.5 - otherwise it wont work, as the update is only downloadable with TT-Home, not like with TT5 where u donwloaded the exe or zip-file to ur computer and run it from there then.
Hope u find this usefull

It won't install on my X51v
What version is current for X51v. When I bought the 'upgrade' from 5.21 it installed 6.01 and v660 maps. TomTom Home has not offered me an upgrade to 6.02 - or was 6.02 only for selected devices?

Fantastic, I've just upgraded my HP6910 and the software runs much better than the last version. Interestingly enough, I am now able to choose what GPS device I can use in the CONFIGURE tab of GPS properties. This option was not previously available since the 6900 series has an internal GPS receiver.
OK, I have tried to use my BT GPS receiver, unfortunately, I am not able to use my Emtac bluetooth receiver. I have disabled the internal GPS revceiver (via the GPS control panel) and I have selected my COM PORT as COM6 in the TOMTOM GPS poperties. TOMTOM does not appear to communicate with the EMTAC. Incidently, the receiver is paired and works flawlessly with Visualgpsce on COM6.
What am I doing wrong? |

Hi Phil,
I think that the new version of TT-Home only offers you an update if you have a device listed on the page I posted. If not you can download the update from that page.
I think its the same as with the update from TT5.1 to 5.21 this was also only for some devices, but everybody updated it...
6.02 i think was never released
but the 6.03 is an offical update from TT - and it works fine on my x50v.
Why cant you install it on ur x51v?

Yep. Even worked on my old Dell X30H. Had it for about 10 days now and it certainly seems to run slicker than the previous version. :D _________________ HTC TyTN II Windows Mobile 6

The problem appears to be that TTHOME is only downloading about 1.3Mb of the quoted 11Mb file! Don't know why this is - will have to investigate. |

Mike this is the same error I get - check the file size in the My Documents/.../Downloads area of TomTom - I'm only getting 1.3Mb and it should be closer to 12Mb according to the .toc file. |

And finally.....
Checking my Recycle Bin I noticed I had a copy of the 6.03 cab file that was around 7.23 Mb
I opened this up and extracted the TTN.CAB, copied it to my X51v and installed it - it seems to work OK. So I don't know what the exact size of the download is supposed to be
Not tried anything much - will have to wait 'til I drive home to see if its smoother in operation. It feels a bit crisper from the start-up (nice new splash screen) to browing the map etc.
Now to downgrade to TomTom Home 1.3 and back the device up again! |

Hi,
seems the Server from where the Download is made was a bit cracked today.
Regarding to the german pocketnavigation-forum it should be fine again now.

I downloaded it again today and it all went smoothly. Both my Wizard and Tom Tom home say I have 6.030 (8320) installed.
Thanks for your help. _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |
