I have Tomtom 6 working fine on COM 4, but in MM all I can select is COM 3, 7, and 6, none of which will work with TomTom
Is there a hack for making COM 4 specifically available in MM PPC (WM 5 )version?

Which device are you having this problem with?
Also can you check TomTom isn't actually running in the back ground - Mike |

Hi Mike, its the Treo 750v
Does TT6 still have this background running/GPS hogging issue?
All I can say is that TT is shut doen, and after a soft reset COM 4 still does not appear in MM.

It's not just TT.
Any application that is connected to a GPS unit and is not exited correctly will cause problems. Use the EXIT button on TT and it will close down correctly and get out of the way.
Sounds odd that it doesn't appear after a soft reset.
I get a list from COM1 to COM9: to choose from. It does include COM4.
I have just plugged a HAICOM 305III CF GPS unit into my AXIM X51v (WM5) and that uses COM4: It's working fine with MM5.
I then closed it down, swapped the SD card and started TT6 - it worked fine with the same CF card GPS unit - I had to reconfig the GPS unit as it usually uses a BT unit on COM7:
Finally - I exited TT6 , swapped the SD card and restarted MM5 - no problems.
Interestingly TT6 knew the name of the card - it offered this in the list of ports to choose. MM5 didn't have a name associated with COM4: - but I believe that has more to do with the dodgy support for WM5 by the HAICOM 305III. |
