But I also upgraded my firmware and dowloaded my first Quickfix data last Friday. So perhaps it is installed one week after you downloaded your last set of data ? _________________ Gareth |

you could'nt get quickfix with that version , only the newest version supports it....you might find that you have quickfix already loaded..... _________________ *************************** |

Sorry if I'm being dim but I can't see on Tomtom Home where it says that there is a new update top GPSfix service and when logging on I don't see any message that its downloaded.
How do iIknow if the latest fix has downloaded to my ONE or am I doing something wrong? |

when you log on and click updates , a box with the quickfix option comes up...you can either accept or decline the install ...if a box doesn't come up i can only think that you have quickfix already installed... _________________ *************************** |

Hi Everyone,
Just looked in the \ephem directory on my ONE v1 and there is a file called ee_meta.txt. This file contained-
expiry=1169927472
I renamed this file (just added an _org to the name so it would not be recognised) and reconnected to HOME and it said it was updating my quickfix data. Before I had renamed it, Home said there was no update available.
I now have a new ee_meta.txt file which contains -
expiry=1170412643
Looks like this is a way to force an update if you need to. Not sure how the number translates to a date. I guess I need to do the same tomorrow and see what changes unless anyone can tell me?
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum. I have lurked for a long time and got invaluable advice and assistants without having to ask!

RE Hankers suggestion - my ee_meta.txt file says "Expiry=1170353237". Don't know what this actually means but, out of interest, I did rename the file and reconnect to Tomtom HOME but is still said no updates available.
How do I tell if my v2 has loaded GPS quickfix. |

Problem solved - you actually have to rename the other file in the ephem directory (packedephemeris.ee) as well. Tried this, reconnected to HOME and it did indeed pickup the update and reload it.
Thanks to everyone. |

That's strange - I only have to rename the txt file on my V1 but it does only work if you disconnect from Home and then re-connect. It looks like the TT is cache'ing the value and only reads the file when you restart.
Looking at the vaules I have received today it looks like the first 5 digits are the day and the last 5 are the time.
At approx. 15:15 today (GMT 28 Jan) I got
1170429339
At approx. 15:20 I got
1170429633 which is about 600 = 5 mins * 60 seconds.
This would make zero at 7:00 am GMT on 12th Jan 1975.
If my theory is right it must still be 27 Jan where jpgaudi is. Am I right?
Thanks,
Dave |

Sorry - Just re-read JP's comments and the data he had was from his original file and not the one loaded today so I'm guessing it was yesterday that it was last updated.
Also, of course the TT would only read the file at start up as it is for a quickfix when you first switch one - Doh! I will have to change my avatar to Homer and think before posting . |
