I have a Quest and an i3, both of which are running v8 mapping. The i3 came with CN v8 NT UK and the Quest was upgraded for free from City Select to the plain City Navigator v8 when I registered it. Neither unit qualifies for free upgrade this time around.
The v9 mapping for the Quest will be available shortly, Garmin are, quite rightly, sorting out the customers with higher spec/more recent units first. When v9 non NT CN upgrade is available will I be able to put that, or parts of it, on a TransFlash card and use it in the i3 (will obtain a 2nd unlock from Garmin) or does the i3 only run on NT?
Don't want to have to buy upgrades to two versions of v9 if one will do the job. I don't mind about the non NT mapping taking up more space (I understand that NT is compressed) as I'll be using a 512MB card for the i3. Or, despite what I've read, can I actually use a 1GB card? Some people seem to get away with it... _________________ Chas
