tomtom ONE v2 europe.
bought a 1gb card (150x speed) and copied across backed up folder contents from pc to card.
went to start tomtom with new card and i am just getting the orange screen showing an sd card coming out of a tomtom with a red cross thru it.
checked the contents of the new card and all appears to be on there as it should be.
any ideas why the tomtom appears to be rejecting this new card??
i did ensure all hidden files were visible etc.
many thanks |

the funny thing is, the files and folders all seem to be on the card its just that the tomtom doesn't seem to recognise the card at all.
or at least thats what i think the red crossed out sd card symbol means?? |

Tony, Please have a read through THIS do you know 100% that the card speed is as quoted? - where was it purchased from? - if all the files are present then the only issue is one of speed - Mike |

therein could lie the prob.
yes i bought the card on ebay.
yes i don't recognise the brand 'my flash'
the label on the card states '150x turbo sd - but thats on trust i suppose??
broken too many rules i suspect but have never had an issue with this before when i've used non turbo speed cards for previously owned tomtom one v1.
i guess i've wasted my money - or could there be another reason?? |

The label can claim any value it likes, but it depends on the card and what actual speed it can support. You could always use the card in a camera, or try sending it back (if the e-bay seller is reputable you might get somewhere).
There are some utility test programs to check the actual speed of the card via a card reader, have a dig around on Google it should throw a few up, otherwise get a new card from a reputable source where you can take it back if the speed isn't up to the job - Mike |

Hi Tonygold,
If you get your money back, try one of these...
they definately work with a TT one v2 europe, althogh on mine the TT took slightly longer to calculate routes-not really noticable in daily use.
I had not heard of Trancend before, but they seem to be a big company, and have a website where you can register your card's serial number for its lifetime warrantee, + I found a review site somewhere where 18/18 people gave it glowing reviews.

I had a similar problem, using the card reader. Some files, although they seemed to be on the card, must have been corrupted. Eventually I got it working using copy and paste from the copy I had on my desktop, but I was not able to load ov2 poi data into the map folder.
In the end I used TomTom Home. I made a backup from my original TomTom card, then restored onto the new card (which I had formatted), again using TomTom Home. This time it worked immediately. All the pois are working fine too.
