Hi
Let’s get one thing clear to all new GPS owners; maps are not up to date as of today? They are about 2 years behind so if you had a GPS for Christmas and you are finding out that the maps are old, that’s as good as it gets. If you had an older model, that’s new out of the box it may have maps that are even older. This goes not only for Navman but every other GPS manufacturer. They purchase map data from major mapping companies, they then incorporate it into their operating system. So depending on the age of the current maps that are available, they will show some minor or major mapping differences.
Regards

Any one heard any official recent info on release date for the iCN520 updates yet??? Won't wait much longer. Been waiting since October now on false promises of the update being released. Last I heard, it was gonna be mid Jan for the release as they were testing it. It's now nearly end of Jan......??????? _________________ Just got nuvi610T to replace Navman iCN520. Great Choice. Just received email from Navman Customer (Lack of) Support. Updates for the iCN520 have been delayed to at least MARCH..... only a six month delay.....think they're competing with Playstation3 and Windows Vista for the most delays.
Anyone on an O2 phone contract of 30 quid or so can update to the Orbit XDA(GPS Built in to the PDA Phone) for free and get the CoPilot Live Software for a small amount.
Think I'll be going for this Option.
FOR SALE...iCN520....!!!!!
Offers Please!!
If anyone hears anything else...please post a reply _________________ Just got nuvi610T to replace Navman iCN520. Great Choice. Highly recommend |

Hi All
I’m glad I purchased MS 2007 to go with my new laptop.
I was hoping that the new maps would have been out by Feb as our first European trip is in mid March, our second trip is May into June, and I am wondering if it will be available then.
Or is it Navmans aim to make every one dump their 5xx units and purchase a newer model so they don’t have to bother with the release.
Regards

My email to Navman dated 20th January.........
Quote: | Can you please supply a genuine release date for the 520 updated 2006
software and mapping before I switch my loyalty to another manufacturer?
|
Their reply today.................
Quote: | Unfortunately we can't give you a confirmed date for the release of
software and maps.
We are awaiting the release approximately in March.
Please accept our apologies and the course of any inconvenience.
|
I do like my 520 but I'm gradually coming round to the opinion that there are plenty of other pebbles on the beach. _________________ Navman iCN 520 |
