Are you running TT6 on an SD card or a CF slot.
I have tried with a 2Gb SD and I get the 'can not find maps' message. Before I buy yet another card, any tricks to try or do I have to have an CF installed.

My colleague runs TT6 and Major Roads of Europe on a 2gb Datawrite SD card, without any problems. Its not especially fast either. _________________ TomTom 720

...that is, the card is not an especially fast make, just a normal SD card not an "Ultra" or whatever......the 2210 works fine with TT6 _________________ TomTom 720

Just called him to check and he said he copied his TT supplied SD card to his 2 gb card. He formatted the 2gb card using the "FAT" format rather than the "FAT32" format but as I'm pretty sure this is not an issue with the 2210 for reading the card its probably not necessary. He did the install from that. Everything is fine. _________________ TomTom 720

Hi VEX,
Are you using a Bluetooth GPS receiver?
Some 2210s don't like using a Bluetooth GPS receiver with an SD card.
As far as 2210s working with TomTom Navigator 6, have a look here.

Robert, is it common , this BT/2210/SD problem ? As I have a number of friends who have simliar set ups and none have had any issues even though there is a variety of SD card types and BT receivers. _________________ TomTom 720

When the 2210s first came out it was quite a common problem discussed in these forums. Some people had issues some didn’t when using a BT GPS receiver as well as an SD card.
Yes it appeared to be quite common, although not every 2210 PDA suffered from this problem.

Although I've never had a problem I have updated my OS firmware to 1.10 and my BT software to 1.4.1 Build 60.
Wonder why the "can't find maps" happens a fair bit as well. Thats just a function of the PDA/SD card and I would hazard a guess at an install issue. If the 2gb card is formated correctly then the 2210 couldn't care less what size the card is. Certainly up to 2gb anyway. _________________ TomTom 720

I believe the 2210/BT problems were generally cured with the 1.10 firmware update.
My 2210 works very well with my GPSlim 236.

2210 worked fine with my BT receiver, a 1GB SD card and TT5.
It is just TT6 that is causing it problems.
Forunately I forgot to charge my battery for a couple o days and it has reset.
Maybe a clean install will make a difference.

Nope, clean install and still the same 'no maps problem'
And this time it also could not find the voices.
Also am I supposed to have received a product code from TT? because I didn't get a new one when I bought on the Western Maps get TT6 free deal.
HELP PLEASE, FEEL LOST WITHOUT JANE.

Regarding the product code for TT6. All you get is a code for the map as that's what you are paying for these days. Logon to MyTomTom and select MyMaps to see which code you have for each map you've downloaded.
BTW, don't try this while browsing with Firefox as TomTom appear not to have bothered checking that their site works with it! 8O |

That might be one of the reasons I can see anything then.
Firefox at work and a mac at home!
Will see what I can see from here.
Playing with a CF card in the next couple of days to see if that cures it. |
