Well, I bow to your superior debating skills and will now withdraw, leaving only an apology if you thought I was being sarcastic - may I assure you I was only intending to be totally serious in my condemnation of piracy and all its tentacles. _________________ Dennis

A friend of mine has just bought a TT One and that came with GB and ROI map version 660, and they've still not got it right at the "new" ferrbridge A1/M62 interchange.
They've gone to the trouble of putting it in but after the junction the road wanders off to the left and we were back in a field again.
How on earth did they get it so wrong, what with digital mapping etc. :o _________________ Paul

"Digital" mapping just makes it easier to get it completely wrong, rather than just slightly. 8) |

Seems to me that a couple of people hijack some of the threads on this forum and stifle debate - I suspect to boost their ego.
Still - for my comment re this thread - Sony Ericsson provide free downloads for all their mobile phone software for at least 18 months after manufacture with a PAYG handset costing from £80. Free PC software, free theme and ringtones on an ongoing basis.
So why dont TT provide free updates to their product. Not just the firmware but the whole product? I paid £270 for my V2. They are now less than £200 but also now come with new maps. I am told I have the latest maps. Now that seems poor service.
Why do we have to keep a paperclip in the V2 case? To reset the unit of course when it wont boot up.
Over to Andy or Dennis I guess for the last laugh.

You have to keep a paperclip in every TT carry case, I suspect. And just to keep you laughing, I've had to paperclip my brand new 910 less than 5 hours after switching it on for the first time. _________________ Dennis

No - not at all. I welcome all views and comment whether I share them or not.
There are at least 2 folks out there who comment in such a manner that the thread effectively gets killed off because of the sentiment expressed.
Mike A hatched a good plan for users to put their location in the profile so we could work out where the TMC data works and where it doesnt. Some folks used this info to poke derisory comment. Net effect was to remove the location from profile fields and thus the effectiveness of this forum is reduced.
Please dont feel that my comment was in any way aimed at you. I personally feel that having bought a legal copy of Win XP Pro that I am entitled to the updates for that product. Likewise Easy CD V6 gave me updates until V7 came out. So when I have V6.152 Mapping, why dont I get free updates until V7 comes out? I would expect at that point that I have to buy an update. |
