..
I've played around with all sorts of settings withing the Settings/System/GPS settings....and various combinations within TomTom...
Nothingn seems to get the yellow/black disk spinning.
I taken a look at my mates that I refered to above, but one of them is a x50v, NOT the x51v, and is running a different OS than Windows Mobile. He doesnt even have a Settings/System/GPS icon.
Within Settings/System/GPS itdoesnt seem to matter WHAT I set the:
Programs Tab: GPS programs port to (suggested Com0)
Hardware Tab: GPS hardware port (Suggested com7 or 8)
Within TomTom, I never seem to get the option of Com 7 0r 8.
on the old iPAQ, I have TomTom configured to use:
Other NMEA GPS
Baud rate 38400
Bluetooth Serial Port Com8.
Time to line up the Axim |

:D :D
Hi many thanks for all your help. Now have it working.
For the record amd using TT5 with the latest upgrade for WM5.
A TomTOm wire GPS antenna, now 3 years old.
Have corrected the register and set the GPS Hardware to Com1 4800. Access is set to automatic.
Now works perfectly.
Time to go and discuss with TT support.
Cheers

Com7
On the Axim x51V:
Settings/System/GPS
Programs tab: GPS Program port : COM8
Hardware Tab: Gps Hardware port: COM7
Baud rate : 57600
Access: Automatic Doesnt matter if ticked, or Un-ticked.
I now have a spinning black/yellow circle at the top/Right of the "GPS Status" page :D
I now need to get outside (After work) and make sure its all working properly.....Cant pick up a SINGLE sat in this metal-clad building (Never have done)
Hope the above info helps other people with a Dell Axim x51v
NOTE: The dell website is now knocking these out for £215 delivered....HOW CHEAP?? |

I've been struggling for days with a Dell Axim 51 and a Leadtek wired GPS which TomTom wouldn't recognise.
Matty's advice worked immediately with the GPS operating withing seconds of being connected after applying the registry fix.
Thanks so much - I was about to send the kit back!.

Well, I had tyo do a hard-reset the other day, and now I'm not getting any coms between my BT-GPS and my Axim
've been throught my post (Above) and checked the settings, but I'm getting no "spinning disk" on the GPS -status
I've re-paired the devices, yet each time I go to GPS-Status/Configure/Other BluetoothGPS It prompts me to :
"Please pair yout Bluetooth GPS and your PDA/Smartphone"
Any suggestions??? |
