Yes, Thanks for that Louie... Unfortunately I cannot copy, delete or move it just keeps telling me cannot read from source file or disk. I also see that all of my file folders in the GPX file are empty, names read chibberish and got dates in the list as modified ranging from 30/01/2010 to 14/01/2039.. I can email a copy of the files if any one can throw any clues.
.
Thanks _________________ Garmin 2569 |

On the basis you can see your Nuvi 660 as a drive in Explorers Folders window. Have you tried to Quick reformat the 660.
To reformat you need to left click on the Garmin Nuvi drive name once to select it. If the drive can be selected, right click and select Format. This will open a window which displays information about the device (which in its self means the device can be read). Click on the check box for Quick Format and click on Start to reformat the 660.
Before trying a reformat you will need a backup copy of your 660 files. If you do not have a copy, perhaps someone on the forum can provide you with a copy from their Nuvi 660. Otherwise you need to contact Garmin UK and see if they can supply a backup copy. Alternativly you may have to return the unit to your supplier or direct to Garmin under warrenty.
A friend of mine recently returned a Garmin M4 which was 4 months old to Garmin under warrenty because of a battery charging problem. They initially said it would be about a 10 day turn around to repair. In the event a brand new replacement unit fully packaged was recieved in 7 days. As only the M4 was returned he now has two sets of M4 accessories. |

Thanks again Louie... I see it will let me format it. I've emailed Garmin again requesting a copy of the files to be sent to me, otherwise I'll send it back and see what they can make of it. I can manage without it for a few weeks.
.

Garmin will not email you the files. For a start it's nearly 2Gb worth of files.
However, I have sent you a PM with a method which may fix the problem without resorting to the format... |

Hi Swing...
Many thanks for the PM fix. Yes, it certainly fixed the problem. Looking a lot more healthy. None of those funny folders and complete rubbish which was in there. I've even D/L all of MaFt's POI's without any problems what so ever.
Thanks again for your assistance and to others on this site with their suggestions. All saved for future problems (if any)!!
.
Regards
