Hi, I'm off on a rally in Africa and have downloaded Off Road Navigator Which will show me the direction to a waypoint i enter. It does however support the standard TomTom Itn file but when i try and enter the lat/long of the waypoints they are off of the map so it won't accept them.
Is there anyway round this? I'd really like to be able to do it on the unit as the checkpoints sometimes change on the day i can't enter them before i go and i don't have a laptop to take to use other software.
Thanks

Are you sure you entered the lat/lon in the right format for TomTom? You have to get the position in decimal degrees (not degrees minutes seconds or degress minutes.minutes) then multiply it by 100,000.
Add a minus sign if the position is South of the equator or West of the WGS84 meridian.
For example, N51.50793 W0.12807 would become 5150793 -12807
Good luck! _________________ Gone fishing! |

You are using a TomTom in Africa?? - Good Luck and don't get lost!
The UK maps are not even up-to-date, let alone Africa's!!!
Have a good time. |

I tried your method but it does not accept it, it has to be N51.50793 W0.12807 format and must exist on a Tomtom map for it to be accepted. For example Dakar 14.34N 17.29W, try it for yourself. |

Not using TomTom as such, just the GPs receiver with the off road navigator software, this software just tells you which direction to drive and how far the waypoint is. |
